exploring the lives of immigrant families, including Widows of Shuhada, Getting Here, and The Ones They Left Behind. Her travel memoir, In Mwera We Danced, was published in 2002. Nice People on Planes is her debut novel.

Lana Hart
is an American-born writer who made Aotearoa New Zealand home in the late 1990s. She began her career in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland as a human rights advocate and diversity specialist before moving to Ōtautahi Christchurch, where she worked as a journalist, scriptwriter, opinion columnist, broadcaster, and writing tutor.
